My life has always revolved around hairstyling. My mother was a hairdresser in the 60's and I have been behind the chair since 2005, opening my own studio in 2018. I specialize in all hair types and my passion comes alive with any kind of blonding, from subtle highlights to bright bleach and tone. I generally take an organic approach, I focus on movement and flexibility, I absolutely do not discriminate and I absolutely love doing hair!
Rand Ringgenberg: StudioHair 120
Rand brings over 25 years of experience as a master stylist, premier colorist, and Chicago salon owner to StudioHair 120. Training younger stylists, he developed new standards for cutting and coloring with precision and detail. Rand has an extensive background in color theory, which led to him teaching advanced color application and techniques for L’Oréal. His career as a principal stylist for major Chicago theatre companies (Steppenwolf, Goodman, Chicago Opera Theatre) gave him a unique perspective on matching a personality with a style. Rand specializes in contemporary cuts, highlighting, and balayage. To him, hair is both a science and an art.
"I’m Lancer, a Capitol Hill Hairstylist. I am not pushy or intimidating, and I provide a Quiet Chair option where you can relax in peace and do whatever you need to do...catching up on emails, reading, or just zone out. A licensed stylist since 1990, I love helping people love their hair again. I have a natural aptitude for hair coloring, and I enjoy customizing coloring for my clients. I have an amiable attitude for my clients, even on crummy, stressful days. I enjoy the connections I have with my regular clients and seeing them happy. My clients feel valued and respected because I listen to what they are saying and not saying, and devise a plan which I revisit and revise as their goals change. I grew up in a suburb of Akron, Ohio with a population of less than 16,000, after which I knew I wanted a different life. Feeling out of place and held back by my gender dysphoria, I left Ohio in 1995 and landed in Seattle in 1999. Looking for a safe space to live and work on my clients, I found community and home in Seattle."
